ORTIZ TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY OF UAS AT NAVAL AIR STATION CORPUS CHRISTI
Tuesday September 07, 2010U.S. Representatives Solomon P. Ortiz will participate in the commencement ceremony of the unmanned aircraft system on Wednesday, September 8. The Predator B unmanned aircraft system will patrol the Texas-Mexico border and provide real-time surveillance, images and data to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Tuesday August 31, 2010(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Representative Solomon P. Ortiz (D-Texas) announced today a $495,000 grant for The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College for the purchase of equipment for the nursing and allied health programs of study.
